How to scan, sign, and email a document on iPhone
ScanFile guide
A paper form does not need a trip through a desktop scanner. You can capture it, add a handwritten signature, and send the finished PDF from your iPhone.
1. Scan or import the form
Open ScanFile and scan the paper form. If the document arrived as an image or PDF, import it instead. Make sure every required page appears in the document review.
2. Correct the page
Review the crop, rotation, and readability before signing. A signature should be the final edit, not a reason to overlook a cut-off edge or unreadable field.
3. Add your signature
Open the drawing and signature tool, sign with your finger, then place and resize the signature over the correct line. Save the page when the placement looks right.
4. Share the signed PDF
Choose the PDF export and open the iOS share sheet. Select Mail or another email app, address the message, add a useful subject line, and verify the attachment before sending.
5. Keep your copy
The ScanFile document remains in your local library unless you delete it. You can also save the exported PDF to Files or another location you control.
